Looking back in history, since the Prophet (peace be upon him) delivered the final message and completed Islam, our Ummah was a living, breathing entity on this earth, spreading peace and good tidings to humanity. Taking a look at our world now. Where has our Ummah gone?
There was a time when Timbuktu was the Islamic and African center of knowledge.
Now it’s an adverb used in a saying to emphasise how far away something is.
There was a time when Muslims brought in a golden age of learning. Baghdad was the envy of the world with its advancements in mathematics and sciences.
Now it’s a persistent warzone, never resting, never being at peace.
There was a time when our Ummah didn’t identify as nationalities or skin colours. We were one nation, advancing our knowledge for the love of our creator and to be closer to him
Now, we put more effort into an Independence Day for a country that exists for the betterment of its rulers more then we do in our religion. We still look at each other’s skin and instantly make judgements.
There was a time when Hajj was accessible to all.
Now the Saudi royal family sit on riches while poverty rages in their country.
The same country that holds Mecca and Medina to ransom.
The same country that literally put a price on a pillar of Islam. An ever increasing price.
There was a time when prophets overthrew tryrants with the help of their creator.
Now, governments of Muslim countries break bread with oppressors. The Prince of the UAE hugs the Prime minister of Israel. The same prime minister who said “I’ve killed many Arabs in my life and there’s nothing wrong with that”
There was a time when Islam was simple and beautiful. Accessible to all of humanity. Now it’s riddled with sects and extremism. The Taliban use the Sharia as a front to impose unislamic rule and oppress their people. The same people who have lived through decades of war.
There was a time when the Ummah wanted what was best for each other. When 1 person won, they all won.
Now, we backbite, destroy and kill even our own families. We show more respect to non Muslims then we do to each other.
No passing of time has changed this. From start to the end. Islam is the truth. So why have we become what we have become? What happened to our empires, our golden ages, our one, united nation?
This temporary world has made us all blind. Blind and numb to the truth.
Go back to your family tree. How far back does it go? The Prophet Adam (Peace be upon him)?
WE ARE MUSLIMS
WE COME FROM PROPHETS
WE COME FROM THE TRUTH
WE COME FROM JANNAH
WE COME FROM THE ONE
Remember who you are. Remember your Prophet (Peace be upon him)
Remember your lord.
Go back to the Quran. Go back to the Sunnah. Go back to good character. Go back to peace.
The world took our beautiful praise for our creator and turned it into a terrorist slogan but now we take it back.
Stand up. As one Ummah. One nation. The Prophet’s (Peace be upon him) nation. And proudly say with your heart and your soul:
